Who We Are
The Aloua Family Partnership Ltd trading as Aloua Vision & Print (AVP) operates www.lyde.co.nz.
This policy explains how we collect, use, store and share personal information when you visit our website, place an order, request custom printing or communicate with us.
We are responsible for personal information we hold and handle it in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and other applicable privacy laws.
Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we collect:
-
Your name, email address, telephone number, billing address and delivery address.
-
Order details, product selections, sizes, payment confirmations and transaction records.
-
Account information and customer enquiries.
-
Artwork, photographs, names and other details supplied for custom printing or personalisation.
-
Marketing preferences and records of consent or unsubscribe requests.
-
Device and browser information, IP address, cookie identifiers, and browsing, shopping and advertising interactions.
Payment providers process payment information needed to complete your purchase. Please do not send full card details by email or text.
We collect information directly from you and through Shopify, payment providers, advertising tools and other providers supporting our services.
You can choose not to provide information, but we may be unable to fulfil an order or respond to a request without the necessary details.
Club and Group Orders
For club, team, organisation or group orders, we usually communicate with one organiser.
That organiser may supply members’ names, garment sizes and personalisation details. We use these to prepare and fulfil the group order. Individual members’ contact details are not normally supplied to us.
Order spreadsheets may be retained in the customer’s order folder alongside artwork.
Organisers should share this policy with affected members and have an appropriate basis for providing their information. Where we collect information indirectly, we will take reasonable steps to ensure affected individuals are informed as required by law. An organiser can help us provide that notice.
How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
-
Respond to enquiries, prepare quotes and manage customer relationships.
-
Process payments, produce orders, arrange delivery and handle returns.
-
Maintain customer artwork for future work requested by that customer.
-
Send order updates and provide customer support.
-
Send permitted promotional emails and texts.
-
Collect, manage and display customer reviews.
-
Understand website use, measure advertising performance and personalise advertising.
-
Maintain records, prevent fraud, protect our systems and meet legal obligations.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on fulfilling contracts, complying with legal obligations, consent, or legitimate interests such as customer support and fraud prevention, subject to your rights.
Customer Artwork and Retention
We retain customer artwork for future work with that customer. We do not reuse it for another customer or an unrelated purpose.
We seek permission before using private customer artwork, photographs or personalised order details for advertising or our portfolio.
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for its purpose, including repeat work, order enquiries, legal recordkeeping and resolving disputes.
Keeping artwork for repeat work does not mean that every member’s name or size must be kept indefinitely. Personal information in order folders should be removed when it is no longer needed.
You may ask us to delete artwork or personal information. We will explain if we need to retain particular records for a lawful reason.
Shopify and Other Service Providers
Our store is hosted by Shopify. Shopify processes personal information when you browse or purchase from our store.
We use Shopify Network Intelligence, which allows Shopify to use information from interactions with our store, other merchants and Shopify to provide enhanced services, including personalisation, advertising and fraud prevention.
Information is shared with Shopify and relevant service providers, which may be located outside New Zealand.
Read Shopify’s Consumer Privacy Policy and visit Shopify’s Privacy Portal for information about its processing and your choices.
We also share information as needed with payment providers, delivery companies, providers supporting our website and communications, and professional advisers. We may disclose information where required or otherwise permitted by law.
Meta Advertising and Tracking
We advertise on Facebook and Instagram and use Meta Pixel, advanced matching and Conversions API through Shopify.
These tools share website activity and purchase events with Meta to measure advertising results and help show relevant advertisements. Information can include names, email addresses, telephone numbers, location, identifiers and browsing or purchase activity, depending on the interaction and applicable privacy choices.
Some information is sent directly between servers, so blocking browser cookies alone may not prevent every type of sharing.
See Meta’s Privacy Policy for details about Meta’s use of information and its privacy controls.
Google Services
We use Google Analytics through our Google & YouTube integration to understand how visitors find and use our website and to measure store performance.
This may involve information about your device, browser, pages viewed and shopping activity.
We also use Google Merchant Center to display our products on Google.
Read more about Google’s processing and privacy controls in Google’s Privacy Policy.
TikTok Advertising and Tracking
Our TikTok integration uses its Maximum data-sharing setting, including the TikTok Pixel, Events API and Advanced Matching.
Depending on your interactions and applicable privacy choices, information shared may include product views, searches, cart and checkout activity, purchases, registrations, and customer identifiers such as your name, email address, phone number and location.
This supports advertising measurement, matching and personalised advertising.
Some information is shared through direct connections between Shopify and TikTok, including order and customer data connections, rather than through browser cookies alone.
Email Signup Forms
We use CWILL/SendWILL Popup Email to manage our website signup forms.
It processes information you submit, such as your email address, together with information about your interaction with the form.
You can unsubscribe from promotional emails using the unsubscribe link provided or contact us for assistance.
Customer Reviews
We use Judge.me to collect, manage and display customer reviews.
Information processed may include your contact details, relevant order information and any review content you submit.
Information displayed with a published review may include your chosen display name, rating, comments and any photos or videos you provide. Please avoid including private information in a public review.
Cookies and Your Advertising Choices
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for essential functions, preferences, analytics and advertising.
We provide Shopify’s cookie consent banner in configured regions, including the United Kingdom. Where displayed, you can accept, decline or manage optional cookies. Where consent is required, optional tracking must respect that choice.
Customers in supported regions can use our Your Privacy Choices — data-sharing opt-out page to exercise the available advertising and data-sharing choices. You can also contact us for assistance.
Certain advertising disclosures may be considered “sharing” or “targeted advertising” under applicable US state laws.
Browser settings can control cookies, although blocking essential cookies may affect website functions. Shopify’s Privacy Portal and the privacy controls offered by Meta, Google and TikTok provide additional choices relating to those providers.
Email and Text Marketing
We send promotional emails and texts where we have the consent or other permission required by applicable law.
You can unsubscribe using the instructions in the message or contact us for help. We honour unsubscribe requests within the legally required timeframe.
Unsubscribing from promotions does not stop necessary messages about an order, payment, delivery or customer enquiry.
Overseas Storage and Security
Our Shopify settings identify the United States as our data-hosting location. Shopify, Meta, Google, TikTok and other service providers may also process information in other countries.
Overseas processing must comply with applicable privacy requirements, including appropriate safeguards where required. Contact us for information about relevant providers and safeguards.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access or disclosure. No system is completely secure. We will respond to privacy breaches and notify affected people and authorities where legally required.
Children’s Information and Public Content
Orders should be placed by an adult or with appropriate adult involvement. Custom and group orders may contain children’s names, sizes or photographs supplied by a parent, guardian or authorised organiser.
Please provide only information necessary for the order.
If you submit content for public display, any identifying details you choose to include may be visible to others. Please avoid including private information.
Access, Correction and Other Rights
You may request access to personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. If we decline a correction, you may ask us to attach a statement recording your requested correction.
For New Zealand access and correction requests, we normally communicate our decision within 20 working days, subject to lawful exceptions or extensions.
Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to deletion, portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, or an appeal. This includes a right to object to direct marketing where applicable.
We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Contact us using the details below.
Questions and Complaints
Please contact our privacy contact at admin@lyde.co.nz if you have a question, request or complaint.
You may also contact the New Zealand Office of the Privacy Commissioner. Where applicable, you can complain to your local privacy regulator, including the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
Policy Updates
We may update this policy when our practices or legal requirements change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice or seek consent where required.
